The 14th Annual Meeting of the DeLoG-Network is coming up soon! The event will be hosted by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and will be taking place from 20th to 22nd May, 2019, in Bern, Switzerland.
This year’s meeting has a special focus on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 'Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels'. SDG 16 is one of the six SDGs that will be reviewed by this year’s UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development in July.
Apart from the specific focus, the Annual Meeting will deal with the four focus topics of the network:
Localising the SDGs
Urban & Territorial Governance
DLG in Fragile Contexts
Local Finance and Fiscal Decentralisation
Within these sessions, inputs will be given by experts as well as by the DeLoG members and partners, presenting their work and new approaches.
All thematic sessions will be followed by working groups in which participants of the Annual Meeting will have the opportunity to delve into the topics in greater depth and to work out elements for DeLoG’s work plan for the upcoming year.
Special DeLoG sessions will offer the opportunity to review the work of the DeLoG Secretariat and to steer its activities for the upcoming year.
The Secretariat is looking forward to lively discussions, sharing experiences and new approaches. For live updates from the Annual Meeting please follow us on Twitter!
