Course: Inclusive Service Delivery & the SDGs (The Hague Academy for Local Governance)

When: 6 March - 17 March 2023

Where: The Hague

Apply by: 27 January 2023

Local public services, such as waste collection, clean water and social services, have a great impact on our daily lives and well-being. However, in many countries, low-income communities often lack access to these important services. Local governments can improve access and make a difference. To do this, they need sufficient capacity and resources, and support from the central government.

In this course, you will:

  • explore how the different levels of government can cooperate effectively to realise inclusive public service delivery
  • discuss and share knowledge on the SDGs, in particular address  SDG 5 (gender), 6 (clean water and sanitation), 8 (decent work and economic growth), 10 (reduced inequalities) and 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions)
  • discusse analytical tools and methods to finance local services
  • learn about policies to involve citizens and strategies to strengthen public-private cooperation
