The III World Forum on Cities and Territories of Peace aims at fostering solutions that ensure urban environments may eliminate expressions of violence with the objective of building coexistence and peace in cities. This new edition of the forum wants to build on the II World Forum on Urban Violence and Education successfully held in November 2018 in Madrid and its commitment to advance towards an agenda of cities of peace in line with the New Urban Agenda and the SDGs.

Looking ahead to its celebration in Mexico postponed to 2021, the Forum has announced the launch of a virtual event on the 5-7 October of this year to discuss peace-building in urban areas.
