While decentralisation of public services is widely seen as an effective way to strengthen trust between citizens and local governments (LGs), it can also be obstacled by lack of financial resources. Often, stable public financing mechanisms, like intergovernmental fiscal transfers or own resource revenue, needs to follow, in order for LGs to be able to deliver efficient and adapted public services.

In this first webinar of the series, we will explore the benefits and challenges of domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM) reforms at subnational level and LGs role and potential in DRM for public service deliver. It will also be a chance to exchange and to build common ground with stakeholders on opportunities, challenges, good practices and lessons learned linked to the webinar's topics.
