This year of COVID-19 pandemic has placed local governments as central actors of recovery and development in the Commonwealth and that where more women where in power, governments have managed to better manage the crisis. However, women's number in local governments across the Commonwealth is still too low and challenges for too high. The development of soft skills for women entering politics is key to facing such challenges. Mentoring is a way to support women in politics.

Thus, in the framework of CLGF’s commitment to supporting more women in local government, the Commonwealth Women in Local Government Network (ComWLG) organises a webinar on how women's roles in local governments and the difference that mentoring can make. The webinar will provide allow participants to share lessons and experiences on such mentoring programmes in the Commonwealth countries.
