Where: Córdoba, Argentina

This World Forum of Local Economic Development (WFLED) is part of an open working process, started in 2011, which promotes an international dialogue and experience sharing in Local Economic Development (LED). It provides the opportunity to transform a global alliance of engaged actors into concrete partnerships at the country and local level.

Its remarkable potential stems from the large number of diverse leaders and professionals from national and subnational governments, the private sector, academia, civil society and others. They work together to stimulate policies for sustainable local development – to achieve their ultimate implementation on the ground.

The Forum is an ongoing process, which culminates every two years with a world event. It began in 2011 in Seville, Spain, with the first edition of the World Forum of Local Economic Development. The second edition followed in 2013 in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil; the third edition was held in 2015 in Turin, Italy; and the fourth edition took place in Praia, Cape Verde.

In light of the growing concerns around the COVID-19 outbreak, the event originally scheduled for May 6 to 8, 2020 in Córdoba, Argentina is postponed, dates are still to be determined.
