The 4th Local and Regional Governments Forum (LRGF), a Special Event of the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) co-organised by UNDESA, the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments (GTF), UN-Habitat, UNDP and Local 2030, illustrate the importance of localising the SDGs in 2021 and of partnerships between different levels and sphere of government and stakeholders. The LRGF will bring together local, regional, and national governments to discuss how decentralised cooperation among local and regional governments and their associations and networks, national authorities and the international community can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

It will give recommendations to support a sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. It will also be an opportunity for local and regional governments and other stakeholders to announce SDG Acceleration Actions in support of the Decade of Action.
