International Democracy Day 2022

On 15th September the International Day of Democracy will be held at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels and online. The event is organized by the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP) and Carnegie Europe. The International Day of Democracy is celebrated every year with a specific theme and was established through a UN General Assembly resolution in the year 2007.

This year, international democracy advocates, experts and practitioners are going to discuss the EU External Democracy Agenda and current risen challenges in the era of geopolitics. Also, the potential of higher North-South collaboration will be discussed.
