COVID-19 is changing the world. Its impact is felt by countries and cities in North- and South America, in Africa, in Europe, in Asia alike. The situation is unique. For the very first time maybe the whole world is tackling the same problem all at once, together.
Therefore, COVID-19 needs to be understood as a global crisis in need of a global response. That is why the UN SDG Action Campaign has joined forces with the organising teams behind The Global Hack from every corner of the world to participate in the biggest hackathon that has ever been held. Together they are calling for 1 million problem solvers to develop creative and transformative solutions capable of responding to the speed, scale and severity of the outbreak, as well as its societal and economic disruptions.
Global leaders, government officials, activists, experts, startups and private sector leaders, media and creatives, developers and literal hackers are all invited to join the #TheGlobalHack from 7 – 11 April 2020 to co-create solutions to this global health crisis and beyond. Different tracks will look for solutions to the many pressing issues, aligned to key SDG areas of focus.
There are different ways to contribute to the event. You can join as a mentor or propose a challenge to work on or assemble and register a team to jointly solve one of the suggested challenges.
The deadline to register, propose a challenge or join a team is the 7th of April, 2020.
