In the context of their Call for Contributions the ILA is looking for reports that touch upon cities local, transnational, international or global engagement with other cities, international organizations and/or global governance mechanisms. Broad in scope the call allows for the inclusion of a wide variety of issues such as city-to-city cooperations, cities’ interactions with global governance trends, SDG localisation, cities’ participation in UN processes such as the New Urban Agenda or the integration of international law in local legislation, among others.

The focus of the reports should be placed on the activities of local governments and take into consideration the applicable local legal frameworks.

The selected city reports will be added as annexes to the official Report of the ILA study group to the ILA Kyoto conference scheduled for August 2020. In addition, some of the reports will be presented at the Conference during an open session and published with a leading university press.

Abstracts (500-700 words) should be submitted to L.roodenburg@asser.nl.
