The ODI-Humanitarian Policy Group is delighted to invite you to the online event on “Why gender matters to internal displacement.”

HPG is convening this high-level conversation to explore what gender can tell us about durable solutions to internal displacement around the world. This event is an opportunity to bring together perspectives on key mechanisms and potential solutions, with the goal of carving out ways forward for internally displaced people.

The event will be chaired by Megan Daigle, Senior Research Fellow at HPG, who will be joined by a panel of experts:

  • Maria Al Abdeh – Executive Director, Women Now for Development
  • Beth Ferris – Research Professor, Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University
  • Sima Samar - Special Envoy of the President, State Minister for Human Rights and International Affairs in Afghanistan and Member of the UN High-Level Panel on Internal Displacement

The webinar will start with a panel discussion followed by an opportunity for the audience to put their questions to the panel
