Context

One of the most required services in all urban areas of the world, mobility is one of the most emblematic, visible and sensitive examples of how metropolitan governance is applied to the everyday life of citizens. Transport and its management have a profound influence on people's access to vital activities of care, work, study and leisure, on family budgets and, consequently, on our quality of life.

Meeting mobility needs becomes more complex when territorial spaces are expanded and diversified, as is the case in large metropolises, requiring coordination between public administrations of different levels and sizes, as well as between private and even individual initiatives.

Mobility needs in the urban, suburban and periurban spheres aim at different solutions to mitigate negative effects on both transport poverty and climate change. Thus, mobility management at metropolitan scales needs to touch several planning keys at the same time to achieve the ultimate goal of sustainable, affordable and inclusive mobility.

In different parts of the world, although the mobility needs of metropolises in different socio-political and economic contexts may be diverse, their solutions may be similar in terms of planning and management of public transport

Content

This webinar brings together experts in mobility from different sectors to exchange their experience and point of view in the coordination of diverse stakeholders in order to deliver safe and affordable mobility that covers the needs of citizens living in vast metropolitan areas, leaving no one behind and contributing to the achievement of the Global Goals.
