Conference: UCLG Executive Bureau 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the role of digitalisation in shaping our rights, our interactions and our relationships with our living environment. These changes are affecting our daily live and will affect our futures, in every part of the world, bringing various opportunities but also risking to further strengthen inequalities.
It is thus clear that the multilateral systems, and the local and regional governments that are at the frontline of delivering services, need to further focus on this issue. UCLG is committed to the protection of digital rights and ensuring that the future of work and governance is one that preserves local democracy, human dignity, and sustainability.
The 2021 UCLG Executive Bureau meetings will be under the theme: Care at the heart of local service provision for an inclusive recovery. The 3 days of exchange will serve to shape the work plan and strategic priorities of UCLG.
