Can institutional reform contribute to sustainable peace after violent conflict?

Peace processes are often accompanied by a set of reforms for change. The international community sees reforms such as constitutional reviews, decentralisation, and electoral system change, as a necessity to rebuild institutions and good governance in conflict-ridden areas. The reform process though is often challenging and its impact might not always be fully satisfactory.

Drawing on concepts, policy, and practice, the course explores opportunities and risks of institutional reform for peacebuilding in post-conflict context.
