Generation Equality Forum: Mexico City (UN Women)
Background
The Generation Equality Forum is a global meeting for gender equality, convened by UN Women and co-organized by the Governments of Mexico and France, with the close participation of civil society. As an international public dialogue for urgent action and accountability on gender equality, the Forum will celebrate the power of women's rights activism, feminist solidarity and youth leadership for transformative change.
Objective
The meeting will be a unique opportunity to set an agenda for concrete action and accelerate the implementation of the commitments to gender equality made in Beijing in 1995. It is planned to be connected in real time around the world through interactive satellite sessions using technology to maximise participation. The Forum will set a feminist agenda and launch Coalitions for Action with concrete and measurable targets and funding for gender equality for the period 2020-2025.
