Webinar: Effective Local Stakeholder Engagement for Climate and Energy Action (ICLEI)

When: 23 July 2021, 05:00 pm CET

Where: Online

Apply by: Registration open

The engagement and participation of stakeholders is a decisive element for effective municipal energy and climate planning and for the implementation of goal-oriented measures. When municipalities decide to develop an energy concept, they need to conceptualize a well-structured process for involving, first and foremost, local stakeholders from different sectors representing the groups of citizens, local businesses, associations, utilities, and the public administration. Only active stakeholder involvement can foster a sense of ownership for achieving the goals of energy and climate action and thus promises long-term commitment on the part of the affected stakeholders.

This webinar will present a Solution as part of Solutions Gateway and addresses decision-makers in municipalities responsible for energy and climate planning and implementation. This Solution is directed to local governments that are exploring or that have already decided to upscale the local stakeholders engagement for climate and energy action in their jurisdiction.
