Webinar: Managing Urban Risks and Building Resilience (UNDP)

In the past years, discussions about recovery have increasingly been focusing on people-centered and resilient solutions. Urban areas are especially hit by issues such as rapid population growth, increasing informality contexts, poor governance, environmental degradation etc. Contemporary complex and multi-dimensional crises add vulnerability and make managing urban risks and ensuring resilient solutions harder. At the same time, cities have shown their potential to be engines of socio-economic development. Thus focus on sustainable urban development strategies is fundamental to the realization of SDGs.

Part of UNDP's Development Dialogues, the webinar brings together experts and practitioners, national and city stakeholders, civil society and private sector as well as development partners and donors to discuss urban risk management and resilience building solutions.
